Biography
MACISAAC, PETER A., dairy farmer; b. 10 February 1878 in Souris, son of Donald A. Maclsaac and Annie Ford; m. 22 November 1910 Mary Josephine Mclnnis, and they had nine children, five of whom died in infancy or late teens, and Hugh, Agnita, Waldren, and Helen; Roman Catholic; d. 9 January 1969 in Souris.
Maclsaac, a Liberal, was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in the general election of 1935 for 1st Kings. He was re-elected in the general election of 1939. He was defeated in the general elections of 1931 and 1943.
Maclsaac was educated at Souris School. From 1898 to 1902, he served as a Lieutenant in the 4th Regiment of the Canadian Artillery, and later with the 37th Field Artillery. Maclsaac was a dairy farmer in the Souris area. He was a member of the Souris Farmer Institute, the Egg and Poultry Association, and the Eastern Kings Exhibition Association. Maclsaac was a member of the Livestock division of the Prince Edward Island Marketing Board and the Maritime Chamber of Agriculture. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Prince Edw'ard Island Temperance Commission. Peter Maclsaac died 9 January 1969 in the Souris Hospital.
Mary Maclsaac, the daughter of Hugh Mclnnis, died in 1955.
